Teacher - Biology

<p>Sask DLC requires a temporary full time Biology teacher. The position will commence on August 27th, 2026 and end on November 30th, or upon return of the incumbent. The campus location will be determined by the principal residence of the successful candidate.</p> <p>Sask DLC is a Treasury Board Crown Corporation, created to deliver high-quality and equitable online learning programs to students across the province. Sask DLC’s head office is located in Kenaston, with an administrative office in Regina, and regional campuses located in Estevan, Kenaston, La Ronge, Moose Jaw, Neilburg, Nipawin, Prince Albert, Regina, Saskatoon, Swift Current and Yorkton.</p> <p>Sask DLC online teachers deliver high-quality instruction and assessment for students in Kindergarten to Grade 12 courses. This position involves the delivery of Saskatchewan Biology curricula, including Biology 30, Environmental Science 20 and Wildlife and Habitat Studies 20<span> through </span>asynchronous and/or synchronous learning models. Online teachers possess a strong understanding of digital platforms such as Moodle and Microsoft Teams and are committed to fostering an inclusive and engaging online learning environment. The online teacher will also collaborate with colleagues, support staff, and administration to plan, track student progress, communicate with parents, and integrate First Nations and Métis perspectives into curriculum delivery.</p> <p> </p> <p><strong>Primary Responsibilities:</strong></p> <p><strong>Academics</strong></p> <p><strong>Curriculum and Planning:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Sask DLC uses a centralized model for course development. Content can be configured for students aligned with the adaptive dimension.</li> <li>Provide high-quality asynchronous or synchronous program delivery to students in Grade 10-12 using the centralized course content aligned with the Saskatchewan curriculum, engaging lessons and activities, formative and summative assessment, and meaningful resources.</li> <li>Integrate First Nation and Métis content, world views, ways of knowing and culture within curricula outcomes and program delivery.</li> <li>Ensure students identify and understand the learning outcomes in lessons and/or assignments.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>Instruction and Assessment</strong></p> <ul> <li>Teach engaging and effective online lessons, activities, and assignments tailored to individual student needs and using the adaptive dimension where applicable.</li> <li>Implement instructional strategies that promote student engagement, learning, and critical thinking.</li> <li>Assess student progress regularly through formative and summative assessments.</li> <li>Prepare and provide detailed progress reports to parents and guardians, highlighting student achievement and areas for improvement.</li> <li>Maintain accurate and up-to-date student performance or achievement records.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>Leadership</strong></p> <ul> <li>Utilize Moodle, Microsoft Teams, and other approved Sask DLC software to manage course content, deliver lessons and communicate with students and colleagues.</li> <li>Troubleshoot basic technical issues and provide support to students and parents, as needed.</li> <li>Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to stay current with educational trends, technology and best practices.</li> <li>Collaborate with peers to improve instructional methods and contribute to professional learning networks.
