THE ROLE

About the opportunity

This is an opportunity to help build and shape a newly established Workday Digital Capability Team responsible for the long-term success and evolution of one of the organization's most important enterprise platforms.

We are assembling a team of experienced Workday professionals who will serve as functional and technical leaders, driving platform optimization, innovation, governance, and continuous improvement. This is more than a support role—it's an opportunity to influence how Workday capabilities are delivered, help establish best practices, and play a key role in shaping the future direction of the platform.

Successful candidates will work closely with business leaders, HR, Payroll, Finance, IT, and other stakeholders to enhance business processes, solve complex challenges, and unlock new capabilities that deliver value across the organization.

What You'll Do

Depending on your area of specialization, responsibilities may include:

  • Serving as a Workday Subject Matter Expert (SME)
  • Configuring, maintaining, and optimizing Workday modules and business processes
  • Supporting production operations, releases, upgrades, and enhancements
  • Troubleshooting configuration, integration, reporting, security, and business process issues
  • Designing and maintaining reports, dashboards, calculated fields, and analytics
  • Supporting data governance, compliance, security, and audit activities
  • Managing integrations, EIBs, testing, validation, and tenant activities
  • Collaborating with HR, Payroll, Finance, IT, and business stakeholders to improve business outcomes
  • Identifying and implementing opportunities to improve system effectiveness, efficiency, and user experience

Qualifications Needed

Education, Certifications and Licenses

College diploma or certificate in Information Technology, Human Resources Information System (HRIS), Computer Science or a related field AND several years of experience in software development, support and maintenance

AND

Workday certification, as an asset

Experience In off-the-shelf/software application maintenance, support and development In systems analysis and data administration In managing the software development lifecycle (SDLC)

In managing the implementation of software solution projects In applying policies, procedures, and regulations In developing and managing IM/IT contracts and consulting services In multiple Workday modules such as, CORE HCM, Compensation, Benefits, Absence Management, Recruiting, Reporting, Security and Integrations, as an asset

Skills And Abilities

Hands-on Workday configuration and support experience

Strong knowledge of Workday business processes, reporting, security, and integrations

Experience supporting system testing, releases, upgrades, and enhancements

Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills

Strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities

Ability to work effectively with both technical and business teams

Language Requirements

English or French Essential, Bilingual (English and French) an asset

START DATE

Tentative start date: August 17, 2026

For applicants in the Ottawa region: This is a hybrid position with an assigned work location allowing the employee to work partly from a corporate office and partly from a home office in accordance with the CFMWS Flexible Work Options Policy, and with approval from the direct manager.

For applicants outside of the Ottawa region: This is a remote position. The employee must reside and work from anywhere within Canada. In accordance with the CFMWS Flexible Work Options Policy, by presenting your candidacy for this role, you confirm that you meet this criteria.
