Project Coordinator – Commercial Roofing

Location: Greater Toronto Area
Job Type: Full-Time
Salary: $65,000–$80,000 per year, based on experience

About the Role

We are an established commercial roofing contractor looking for a motivated Project Coordinator to join our team.

This is a hands-on construction coordination role intended for someone who wants to grow into a Project Manager position. The successful candidate will work closely with Project Managers, field supervisors, suppliers, consultants and general contractors to help coordinate projects from award through completion.

Responsibilities

  • Review project drawings, specifications and contracts.
  • Prepare and track RFIs, submittals, shop drawings and change orders.
  • Coordinate material procurement, deliveries and supplier requirements.
  • Assist with project schedules and monitor upcoming milestones.
  • Maintain organized project documentation and correspondence.
  • Assist with purchase orders, cost tracking and project reporting.
  • Coordinate with field supervisors, general contractors, consultants and suppliers.
  • Attend project meetings and site visits as required.
  • Assist with progress billing and project closeout.
  • Identify potential schedule, scope or cost issues and bring them to the Project Manager's attention.

Qualifications

  • 1–4 years of construction coordination or related construction experience preferred.
  • Diploma or degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering Technology, Civil Engineering Technology, Architectural Technology, Building Science or a related field is preferred.
  • Equivalent practical construction experience will also be considered.
  • Ability to read construction drawings and specifications.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Comfortable working with numbers and basic project costing.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word.
  • Experience with Bluebeam, Planswift, Procore or construction management software is an asset.
  • Commercial roofing, building envelope or ICI construction experience is an asset
  • Valid driver's licence and ability to visit project sites throughout the GTA.

The ideal candidate is interested in learning the technical and financial sides of construction and wants to develop into a Project Manager capable of independently managing commercial roofing projects.

Pay: $55,842.35-$75,874.52 per year
