Our client is seeking a proactive and experienced Remote Lead Health and Safety Specialist to guide their comprehensive safety programs across all operational sites. This crucial role focuses on developing, implementing, and promoting robust health and safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all employees, especially in remote and potentially hazardous mining operations. You will leverage your expertise to foster a strong safety culture and minimize workplace risks, working entirely from a remote location. Key Responsibilities Develop and update health and safety policies, procedures, and training materials for compliance with regulatory requirements. Conduct remote risk assessments and hazard analyses to identify potential safety issues across diverse operational environments. Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Develop and manage comprehensive safety training programs for employees at all levels. Promote and foster a positive safety culture through effective communication and engagement strategies. Stay current with all relevant health and safety legislation and industry best practices. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field. Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in developing and implementing health and safety programs, preferably in the mining or heavy industry sector. Certified Health and Safety Professional (CRSP, CSP, CIH, or equivalent) preferred. Strong understanding of workplace safety regulations and best practices.
