Title: Part Time, Teaching Assistant (Community Crisis Responders)

Schedule: 20 hours per week

Reports to: Manager, Community Crisis Responders

Location: Work from Home

Duration: Permanent

Shift Schedule: 9AM-1PM or 1PM-5PM ET Monday to Friday

Wage: $24.88/hour

In this role, the Teaching Assistant will primarily provide timely, strengths-based feedback to Volunteer Crisis Responder trainees throughout their training. You’ll review crisis intervention skills and help ensure trainees deliver consistent, empathetic, and well‑rounded support, setting them up for success as volunteers and reinforcing best practices for supporting service users.

The Position

As a Teaching Assistant, you will collaborate with a Crisis Responder Coach to ensure that crisis responders, volunteers from across Canada, have a best-in-class training experience as they learn to support service users. Your work will contribute to our key texting service indicators (KPIs), contributing to a consistent and supportive training experience.

What You'll do

  • Grade a high volume of quizzes and activities in a standardized training
  • Provide structured and customized feedback to support crisis responder trainees in their learning and development
  • Provide input into training materials and program newsletters
  • Participate in team meetings, projects and alignment on training materials and communications
  • Support the overall success and readiness of volunteers

What You'll Need

  • Pursuing a degree or diploma in a social work or education-related field
  • Experience learning or teaching in an online environment preferred
  • Comfortable working independently and remotely
  • Bilingualism (French and English) is an asset
  • Possess an acceptable "Vulnerable Person Sector Criminal Reference Check" prior to starting employment (can be conducted by the organization for successful candidates)
  • Possess a current “Police Reference Check” prior to starting employment (can be conducted by the organization for successful candidates)
