Team members are encouraged to contribute to a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and respect.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Role Description</strong> The Nurse Practitioner for the Virtual IBS Clinic will provide assessment, diagnosis, and management of patients with IBS and related functional gastrointestinal disorders through secure virtual consultations. This part-time remote role includes reviewing patient histories, ordering and interpreting relevant tests (labs, xray, breath tests,etc) within scope, developing individualized care plans, prescribing medications when appropriate, and offering education on symptom management, diet, lifestyle, and stress reduction. The Nurse Practitioner will collaborate with naturopathic doctors, dietitians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated, high-quality care, while documenting all encounters in electronic medical records (using Jane app) in a timely and accurate manner. Other tasks also include monitoring treatment progress, adjusting care plans based on patient response and prescription refills, responding to patient messages, and participating in case reviews or team meetings. The role may involve contributing to clinical protocols, patient resources, and quality improvement initiatives that enhance virtual care delivery for IBS patients.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>Current Nurse Practitioner licensure in Ontario with membership in the appropriate regulatory body and eligibility to practice in a virtual care environment.</li><li>Clinical experience in gastroenterology with a strong interest in IBS and digestive health.</li><li>Clinical experience in mental health prescribing. </li><li>Proficiency in conducting comprehensive virtual assessments, developing evidence-based treatment plans, and providing patient education using telehealth platforms.</li><li>Strong skills in clinical documentation, electronic medical records, and adherence to privacy, confidentiality, and regulatory standards.</li><li>Excellent communication, active listening, and interpersonal skills to support compassionate and culturally sensitive care.</li><li>Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage a part-time caseload, prioritize tasks, and collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary team members.</li><li>Commitment to continuing education, staying current with IBS guidelines and research, and participating in quality improvement or protocol development.</li><li>Comfort with digital tools, secure messaging, and virtual workflows; prior telehealth experience is an asset.</li><li>Availability for scheduled part-time virtual clinics, with flexibility to accommodate patient needs across different times when required.</li></ul>
