Inside Sales Representative

Role Purpose

The ideal candidate will have experience in craft beer sales and will understand the important aspects of retail channel sales (LCBO, Grocery and The Beer Store).

Key Accountabilities and Activities

  • Manage the Northern Ontario and Windsor territories from the Etobicoke office through emails and phone calls
  • Enter and process retail orders across LCBO, Grocery, The Beer Store and Convenience channels
  • Coordinate orders with our distribution partner as required
  • Communicate new product listings, promotions and programming to stores through online portals, email and phone
  • Monitor store-level inventory and proactively address out-of-stocks and potential inventory gaps
  • Support Territory Managers as needed, including sales calls, order follow-up and deliveries
  • Travel to assigned territories a few times per year to conduct in-person sales calls and build customer relationships
  • Support LCBO and The Beer Store customer tastings and promotional events
  • Coordinate and complete urgent deliveries to LCBO and The Beer Store locations when required
  • Provide territory coverage during Territory Manager vacations and other absences
  • Use sales reporting tools to complete weekly reporting, monitor performance and track progress against sales objectives
  • Provide additional support across the brewery as required

Necessary Knowledge and Experience

  • Strong interest in building a career in craft beer sales and developing industry knowledge
  • Proven ability to contribute to a collaborative, supportive team environment and engage positively with our customers
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including comfort using social media and digital communication tools
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook and other Microsoft Office applications
  • Highly organized and efficient, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Comfortable working with sales reporting tools, order-entry systems and online retail portals
  • Previous inside sales, customer service or retail sales experience is considered an asset
  • Valid Ontario Class G driver’s licence and a clean driver’s abstract

Education and Certification Requirements

  • Smart Serve Certified with Retail Alcohol sales designation
  • Post-secondary education
