Job Summary

Join our dynamic team as a Busser/Barback at Barbie Malibu Cafe where your energy and enthusiasm will help create an exceptional dining experience for our guests. In this vital support role, you will assist the front-of-house staff by maintaining a clean and organized environment, ensuring tables are promptly cleared and reset, and supporting bar operations. Your proactive attitude and attention to detail will contribute to a lively, welcoming atmosphere that keeps guests coming back.

This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop hospitality skills while working in a fast-paced, energetic setting.

Responsibilities

  • Clear and reset tables efficiently to ensure smooth flow of service and guest satisfaction
  • Assist bartenders by restocking glassware, garnishes, and supplies to keep the bar fully prepared
  • Maintain cleanliness of dining areas, bar stations, and service stations in accordance with food safety standards
  • Support food runners with timely delivery of food items from kitchen to tables
  • Handle basic food preparation tasks such as garnishing drinks or assembling simple bar snacks when needed
  • Ensure proper food handling and sanitation practices are followed at all times
  • Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate service flow and guest needs
Experience
  • Previous food service or restaurant experience preferred but not required; enthusiasm and willingness to learn are key
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with guests and team members
  • Familiarity with POS systems such as Micros POS or similar cash handling tools is a plus
  • Experience in hospitality environments like hotels or cafes enhances your ability to excel in this role
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and proper cleaning procedures is beneficial
  • Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset are essential for success in this energetic environment
