AML Analyst (3 Month Contract) 

Are you detail-oriented and passionate about maintaining financial integrity? Shakepay is looking for a AML Analyst (3 month contract) to support our AML team in protecting our platform and customers. You have a keen eye for detail and excel at ensuring accuracy and consistency in every task. You approach compliance with precision, transforming routine processes into a seamless and efficient workflow. If this sounds like you, the AML team wants to hear from you.

What you’ll be doing

  • Name screening and monitoring: Review and investigate name screening alerts generated by internal systems against sanctions lists (e.g. Canada, UN, OFAC), PEP lists, Adverse Media, and other watchlists
  • Transaction monitoring and analysis: Review and analyze customer transactions for patterns of unusual or suspicious activity. Identify and document red flags related to potential money laundering, terrorist financing, or other illicit activities
  • STR and LVCTR reporting: prepare and file Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs) and Large Virtual Currency Transaction Reports (LVCTRs) in compliance with FINTRAC regulations
  • Help on any other AML workflow that requires additional support
  • Participate in regular training sessions and team meetings 
  • Collaborate with internal teams through Slack and Google Meet
  • Identify and escalate unusual account activity to senior team members and managers

Who we’re looking for

  • 1+ year of AML experience with a bank or fintech
  • Basic knowledge and familiarity with Bitcoin and virtual currencies
  • Strong data entry skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional areas
  • Strong ability to work independently or as part of a team

Bonus points

  • CAMS or CFCS certification
  • Bilingual proficiency in French and English
