Role and Responsibilities:
As an Accountant with a CPA designation at Otterz, you will play a crucial role in our AI-powered fintech company focused on virtual bookkeeping, tax filing, payments processing, and AI-driven insights. Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with our bookkeepers, product team, and tech team to develop and improve our product. Collaborate on training our AI model for bookkeeping and provide valuable insights for product enhancement.
  2. Tax Expertise: Utilize your CPA designation to assist in the filing of taxes for our small business customers. Address complex questions related to tax treatment and filing, ensuring compliance and providing expert guidance.
  3. Strategic Contribution: Contribute to the strategic vision of our fintech product by providing financial expertise and insights. Collaborate with stakeholders to align financial strategies with the overall product roadmap.
  4. Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensure that our financial processes, especially tax-related, are in compliance with regulations. Maintain high-quality standards in all financial aspects of the company.
  5. Data Analysis: Leverage your financial expertise to analyze financial data, helping us make informed decisions, optimize financial processes, and identify opportunities for improvement.

Desired Profile:
• CPA Designation: Hold an active CPA designation, showcasing your expertise in accounting and taxation.
• Experience: Possess a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in accounting and tax-related roles, with a preference for experience in fintech or technology-driven companies.
• Technical Knowledge: Demonstrate a strong understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and tax codes. Proficiency in using accounting software and financial tools is a plus.
